SENIOR ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

 

FACILITY DESCRIPTION:  Southampton Golf Club is a private, member owned club on the east end of Long Island.  Designed by Seth Raynor in 1925, the club will celebrate its one hundred year anniversary next season.  The active membership is committed to continually improving our facilities, which include an 18 hole par 70 layout, full practice facility and three hole short course for our junior program.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Assistant Superintendent with deep expertise in maintaining golf courses to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in crew management, plant health diagnoses and applications, and irrigation systems management. This role requires a forward-thinking attitude to ensure the golf course is always in top condition and ready to provide an exceptional experience for our members. As a Senior Assistant Superintendent, you will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to implement maintenance practices that promote the overall health and playability of the course.

 

Responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the maintenance crew, conducting regular plant health assessments, managing irrigation schedules, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the playing surfaces. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Additionally, the Senior Assistant Superintendent will be involved with budget management, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Minimum 3 years’ experience in golf course maintenance, Turf degree or certificate recommended, Proficient in knowledge and application of plant health products.

 

 COMPENSATION:  $80,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience, Health Insurance, Annual bonus, IRA, Local and National association dues, continuing education, Uniforms, In season meals, Off Site Housing available.
