This Alfred Tull-designed course opened in 1962 and features wide fairways that lead to undulating greens; making for a fun, yet challenging test of golf.
The Assistant Superintendent plays a critical role in the success of the Golf Course Maintenance team. He/She should be the kind of person that has a passion for excellence, a positive, willing attitude, and will lead by example within the team. In addition to participating in
all long-term project planning and agronomic practices, he/she will work closely and be involved in all aspects of day-to-day course maintenance/ including things such as, but not limited to:
Staff superivision in regards to training, coaching, and working in a team atmostphere
Irrigation operation, repair, and scheduling
Showing good attention to detail, specifically regarding moisture levels and pest management
Chemical/fertilizer planning and application
The selected candidate can expect to maintain an excellent work/life balance throughout the year. Every other weekend off in season and a M-F schedule throughout the winter.
2+ years experience preferred, but not required
Experience with Poa Annua greens in the northeast a plus
Minimum certificate in agronomny/plant science/turfgrass management or equitable experience
Should have or be able to obtain a NYS pesticide license cat. 3A
