ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

North Fork Country Club is a private club located on the North Fork of Long Island. A breathtaking waterfront setting that boasts a beautiful Donald Ross-design isn’t easy to keep a secret. Nature is joined by tradition, in a golf course brought to life more than 100 years ago by a legendary designer. Aside from the beautiful 18 hole golf course, North Fork also has 2 Har-Tru tennis courts as well as a full practice facility with a driving range and chipping area.

 

 We are looking for an assistant to work alongside our superintendent and well seasoned crew to recognize and implement improved course maintenance methods using traditional and organic methods when possible. The ideal candidate should be a motivated individual, possessing a desire to learn, and hardworking to gain the skills and experience needed to advance their career. The applicant should be a graduate of a Turfgrass Management program or similar field, with a minimum of 2 years experience working on a golf course maintenance staff. Recent or upcoming graduates (Class of ’21-’22) welcome to apply. Applicants must also possess a valid driver’s license and have or obtain a NYS Pesticide license. Please include any other certifications you possess in your resume.

 

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be involved in but not limited to:

● Pesticide and fertilizer applications

● Daily course set up

● Daily course mowings

● Hand watering, Irrigation operation and repair

● Equipment maintenance and repairs

● Management of crew
