GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
North Hempstead Country Club is a private, member-owned, full-service country club located on the scenic North Shore of Long Island, with a proud heritage dating back to its founding in 1916. The 18-hole golf course—an understated gem—features A.W. Tillinghast-inspired architecture thoughtfully blended with modern enhancements. In recent years, the Club has advanced key elements of its long-term master plan, including the construction of a full-length driving range and a greatly expanded short game area, further enriching the golf experience for its members.
North Hempstead is a full-scale facility offering championship golf, Har-Tru tennis courts, a pool complex, multiple practice areas, and a full-service clubhouse. The Club enjoys a very active and engaged membership, a robust tournament calendar, and a strong lineup of charity and corporate outings that contribute to a dynamic, year-round operation. In spring 2026, the Club will launch Phase 5 of its multi-phase renovation plan, continuing its commitment to strategic improvements that honor tradition while elevating playability and aesthetics.
THE OPPORTUNITY
North Hempstead Country Club is seeking a passionate and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead its agronomy team into this exciting new chapter. In 2026, the Club will begin Phase 5 of its Golf Course Master Plan—a $3.5 million capital improvement project led by golf course architect Joel Weiman (Weiman Golf Design) and executed by Tilleli Golf Group. The scope includes the installation of Better Billy Bunkers with Pro Angle Sand, as well as key enhancements to bunkering, drainage, cart paths, tees, and greens—all thoughtfully designed to preserve the course’s classic character while enhancing playability, variety, and strategic interest.
The Superintendent will play a central role in the planning and execution of this renovation, while continuing to deliver high-caliber playing conditions through sound agronomy, modern technology, and strong team leadership. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of a classic course while joining a progressive and supportive leadership team.
The Club values collaboration, transparency, and long-term relationships across its leadership structure. The Superintendent will be a key member of that team, with the full support of the General Manager, Green Committee and Board in setting strategy, building culture, and driving excellence.

• Managing all landscaped and non-golf grounds, including clubhouse surroundings, ornamentals, walkways, and seasonal flower programs
• Maintaining winter accessibility through snow and ice management of service roads and key walkways
• Supporting the development of assistants, interns, and seasonal staff to help grow the next generation of turf professionals
