ASSISTANT EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

 

Job Description:

Are you passionate about golf course maintenance and eager to learn both turf management and equipment mechanics? Long Island National Golf Club is offering a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in both turf and agronomy as well as equipment maintenance. This is a rare hybrid position where you will work alongside our turfgrass management team while also developing skills in golf course equipment repair and maintenance.

 

What You’ll Learn & Do:

• Assist with daily golf course maintenance, including mowing, irrigation, and turf care.

• Learn about soil science, pest management, and fertilization to support turf health.

• Work alongside the equipment technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot golf course machinery.

• Perform routine maintenance on mowers, aerators, utility vehicles, and other golf course equipment.

• Operate specialized turf equipment and learn best practices in golf course agronomy.

• Support aeration, topdressing, and drainage projects to enhance course conditions.

• Gain insight into sustainable golf course maintenance practices.

 

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

• A hands-on learner with an interest in both turf management and equipment mechanics.

• Mechanical aptitude or a willingness to learn equipment maintenance.

• A strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or mechanics is a plus but not required.

• A team player with a passion for golf and the outdoors.
