EQUIPMENT MANAGER
Engineers Country Club sits on 150 rolling acres with views of downtown Manhattan. The club is committed to continuous improvement across all areas, especially the golf course and the fleet that maintains it. The Equipment Manager is truly the heart of the operation and an essential part of the team’s success. This role directly supports the daily conditioning of a Top 200 Classic Course and plays a key role in the club’s ongoing commitment to excellence. A complete fleet replacement is planned for 2026, and the Equipment Manager will be instrumental in that process. At Engineers, we value a positive work–life balance — this position offers a five-day workweek with no weekends.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager serves as the central link between the agronomy team and the machinery that keeps the course performing at its best. This position ensures every piece of equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities include mechanical repair, preventive maintenance, inventory management, and maintaining an organized, professional work environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, values precision, and understands their vital role in achieving championship-level playing conditions.
Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and equipment storage areas.
• Schedule and coordinate repairs around mowing and maintenance operations.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all turf and utility equipment.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance and repair records.
• Manage inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.
• Grind, sharpen, and maintain reels and rotary mowers.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and light electrical repairs.
• Train staff on safe equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Periodically operate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications
• Working knowledge of light and heavy equipment, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.
• Skilled in mower grinding, sharpening, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of how equipment performance affects course conditions.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in all weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
• Hourly Rate: $45–$55+ per hour, DOE
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours a week; no weekends
