ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

 

Laurel Links Country Club (LLCC), which opened in 2002, is located on the North Fork of eastern Long Island. We are a high end private facility complete with pool and tennis. At over 7,000 yards the par 71 course plays on PennTrio tees and fairways, fine fescue roughs and Penn A-4 greens. We have an active golfing membership and strive to provide tournament conditions on a daily basis. LLCC is an active participant in the golfing community by hosting qualifying events for the Met PGA, MGA, LIGA, WMGA and USGA while hosting championship events for the Met PGA, LIGA, WMGA and MGA.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will work side by side with a seasoned Assistant and Superintendent in all facets of golf course maintenance. The candidate will be involved in but not limited to pesticide and fertility applications; daily course setup; irrigation operation and repair; proper equipment operation and training in the use of; hand watering and the management of a well-seasoned crew while providing feedback on daily course conditions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The applicant should be a motivate individual, possessing a desire to learn, a willingness to work in order to acquire the skills and experience necessary to further their career. Applicant should be a graduate of a Turf Management program or related field with a minimum of 2 years working on a golf course maintenance staff. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have or acquire a NY State Pesticide license.
