ASSISTANT IN TRAINING

 

Bellport Golf Club is a hidden gem on the south shore of Long Island established in 1899 designed by renowned architect Seth Raynor.  As one of only a handful of golf courses in America that dates back to the 19th Century, Bellport’s pristine 18-hole layout provides a compelling golf experience.  One of the best kept secrets on Long Island, Bellport Golf Club is a semi private club open to Village residents, members, and their guests.

We recently hosted multiple local qualifiers, including the MGA, LIGA, NYSGA, and we strive to continue to welcome more tournaments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work alongside the Superintendent and the maintenance team to provide consistent championship conditions. Previous golf course experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual.  He/She will assist in chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation repair, water management, cultural practices, and participate in the daily maintenance practices.  Must be self-driven, passionate and have a strong attention to detail.  The AIT will be an important member of the turf management team and will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their career in the turf industry.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Working towards, enrolled or has completed a minimum of a 2-year turf program.

Ability to acquire a NY state pesticide applicators license.

 

COMPENSATION:  Salary is commensurate with experience.
